Taylor Haines of Yuma, AZ, has navigated a remarkable heart journey since birth. Born with a congenital heart defect that went undetected until she was two weeks old, Taylor was swiftly airlifted to St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix. There, she was diagnosed with coarctation of the aortic arch, an atrial septal defect (ASD), and a ventricular septal defect (VSD). At just three weeks old, Taylor underwent a successful open-heart surgery that set the stage for her to live a happy, healthy, normal life. We will be forever grateful to the doctors and nurses who provided her with exceptional care at YRMC and St. Joseph's Hospital. Since then, she has had regular check-ups at Phoenix Children's Hospital and recently transitioned to a local cardiologist, Dr. Kaynak, in Yuma. Now a junior at Yuma Catholic High School, Taylor is incredibly involved in many activities, including participating in FFA, raising and showing sheep and pigs through 4-H, staying active with workouts to maintain her heart health, and attending every country music concert she can! Taylor is the true definition of resilience and determination. She is one of a kind!
